Controlled Privacy Policy
Effective October 27, 2026
- Controlled talks only to your own devices: your TV over your home Wi-Fi, and your PC over Bluetooth. It has no account, no server of ours, no ads and no analytics.
- We collect nothing. What the app remembers about your TVs and PCs stays on your phone.
- Uninstalling the app, or removing a TV or PC from your controllers, erases it.

What stays on your phone
To reconnect without asking again, Controlled keeps one small file in the app's private storage, excluded from backups:
- your TV's address on your home network, its name and model;
- the pairing key your TV gave the app when you chose Accept, and your TV's security certificate fingerprint, so the app can tell it's still the same TV;
- your TV's network hardware addresses (MAC), used only to turn it on over Wi-Fi;
- the apps you pinned and how many times you opened each one from Controlled, to order your apps;
- if you set one, the Bluetooth wake key that lets the app turn your TV on over Bluetooth;
- for each PC: its Bluetooth address, its name and the keyboard layout you chose.
None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. App icons are read from your TV each time it connects and kept only in memory.
What goes over your network
- To your TV only: finding it on the Wi-Fi, the buttons you press, text you type in the Type sheet, touchpad moves, and the TV's answers (its apps, inputs, volume and what's on). The connection is encrypted where your TV supports it.
- Turning the TV on: a "wake" signal broadcast on your home network, a short Bluetooth signal if you set a wake key, or your phone's infrared blaster, like a TV remote.
- To your PC only, over Bluetooth: the phone works as a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. It sends the keys you press, the text you type and the trackpad moves, and nothing else. It only does this while a PC is open in the app.
- Google Play: installs and updates the app. Fonts come from Google Play services on your phone.
Controlled doesn't contact any server of ours: there isn't one.
Permissions
- Find and connect to devices on your local network (nearby devices): to reach your TV.
- Network access and Wi-Fi multicast: to find the TV and talk to it.
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth): to connect to your PC as a keyboard and mouse, and to send the Bluetooth signal that turns the TV on.
- Infrared: to turn the TV on with your phone's IR blaster, on phones that have one.
- Vibration: a tick when you press a key, following your phone's touch-feedback setting.
Deleting your data
Remove the TV or PC from your controllers in the app, or uninstall the app. There's nothing of yours anywhere else to delete.
Children
Controlled isn't directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.

- Controlled solo habla con tus propios dispositivos: tu TV por el Wi-Fi de tu casa y tu PC por Bluetooth. No tiene cuentas, ni servidores nuestros, ni anuncios ni analíticas.
- No recopilamos nada. Lo que la app recuerda sobre tus TVs y PCs se queda en tu celular.
- Desinstalar la app, o quitar un TV o PC de tus controles, lo borra.

Qué se queda en tu celular
Para volver a conectarse sin preguntar de nuevo, Controlled guarda un archivo pequeño en el almacenamiento privado de la app, excluido de las copias de seguridad:
- la dirección de tu TV en la red de tu casa, su nombre y modelo;
- la clave de vinculación que tu TV le dio a la app cuando elegiste Aceptar, y la huella digital del certificado de seguridad de tu TV, para que la app sepa que sigue siendo el mismo TV;
- las direcciones de hardware de red (MAC) de tu TV, usadas únicamente para encenderlo por Wi-Fi;
- las apps que fijaste y cuántas veces abriste cada una desde Controlled, para ordenar tus apps;
- si la configuras, la clave Bluetooth que permite a la app encender tu TV por Bluetooth;
- de cada PC: su dirección Bluetooth, su nombre y la distribución de teclado que elegiste.
Nada de esto se nos envía a nosotros ni a nadie más. Los íconos de las apps se leen de tu TV cada vez que se conecta y se guardan solo en la memoria.
Qué viaja por tu red
- Solo a tu TV: encontrarlo en el Wi-Fi, los botones que presionas, el texto que escribes en Escribir, los movimientos del touchpad y las respuestas del TV (sus apps, entradas, volumen y lo que está en pantalla). La conexión está cifrada si tu TV lo admite.
- Encender el TV: una señal de activación ("wake") transmitida por la red de tu casa, una señal Bluetooth corta si configuraste una clave, o el emisor infrarrojo de tu celular, como un control de TV.
- Solo a tu PC, por Bluetooth: el celular funciona como teclado y mouse Bluetooth. Envía las teclas que presionas, el texto que escribes y los movimientos del trackpad, y nada más. Solo lo hace mientras tienes un PC abierto en la app.
- Google Play: instala y actualiza la app. Las fuentes vienen de los servicios de Google Play en tu celular.
Controlled no se comunica con ningún servidor nuestro: no hay ninguno.
Permisos
- Buscar y conectarse a dispositivos en tu red local (dispositivos cercanos): para comunicarse con tu TV.
- Acceso a la red y multidifusión Wi-Fi: para encontrar el TV y comunicarse con él.
- Dispositivos cercanos (Bluetooth): para conectarse a tu PC como teclado y mouse, y para enviar la señal Bluetooth que enciende el TV.
- Infrarrojo: para encender el TV con el emisor infrarrojo de tu celular, en los celulares que lo tienen.
- Vibración: una pequeña vibración cuando presionas una tecla, según la configuración de respuesta táctil de tu celular.
Eliminar tus datos
Quita el TV o PC de tus controles en la app, o desinstala la app. No hay nada tuyo en ningún otro lugar para borrar.
Menores de edad
Controlled no está dirigida a menores de edad y no recopila información personal de nadie.
Cambios
Si esta política cambia, la nueva versión se publicará aquí con una nueva fecha.
